SCBOA Camp Host Information/Application

Since 2016, the SC Basketball Officials Association has provided classroom and on-court instruction to hundreds of officials who have wanted to improve and grow in their officiating. Camp host applications are open each year to any local district that would be willing to set-up and run a camp according to the agreed upon SCBOA Camp requirements.

Applications for hosting a camp are due by April 15th each year.
Applications are submitted to the SCBOA Camp Committee and if approved the camp host application will be sent to all SCBOA District Directors for final input and approval.
Requirements to host a SCBOA camp:
*Camp Classroom Session Options (Must provide a minimum of three of the following list):
- A minimum of two days in length
- Maximum cost of $75 per official to attend
- Film/Video review
- Camp classroom sessions (Minimum of three from the below list)*
- All campers must work a minimum of three game assignments during the camp
- Campers cannot receive payment for working game assignments during the camp
- Officials selected as clinicians cannot receive credit for camp that they serve as a clinician

- 3-Person Mechanics - Primary Coverage Areas, NFHS Signals, Reporting & Presentation
- Game Management
- Communicating with Coaches and Players
- 2-Person Mechanics (Optional for New Officials or Officials with Less Than Three Years Experience)
